Planning a Mosaic Wall
What kind of event suits a mosaic wall?
The mosaic works best where there is a single room people return to across several hours, and where the finished image means something to everyone in it. That makes it a natural fit for milestone celebrations, company anniversaries, conferences, fundraising galas and school events — occasions with a logo, a date or a portrait worth revealing. It is less suited to events where guests pass through briefly or split across multiple rooms, because the wall needs enough contributors to resolve into its final image. If your guest count is modest, that is not a problem in itself; the mosaic is built to the room. What matters more is whether people will be present long enough to come back and watch it fill, because that returning is most of the appeal.
What do guests actually take home?
Two things, and the distinction catches people out. Each guest gets a sticker copy of their own photo, which is what they place on the wall in its designated position — that copy stays with the mosaic. They also keep a separate copy of the photo itself, so nobody has to choose between contributing to the wall and having something to take away. The finished mosaic is yours at the end of the night, and because it is assembled from physical prints rather than rendered on a screen, it survives the event as an object rather than a file. Hosts often hang it afterwards; for corporate clients it tends to end up in an office rather than a drawer.
How long does the wall take to fill?
It fills across the whole event rather than in a rush at the start, which is deliberate. Guests photograph early, place their sticker, and then keep coming back to see how much of the image has resolved — the wall is a talking point precisely because it is unfinished for most of the night. Practically, that means it wants a position people walk past repeatedly rather than a quiet corner, and it wants an attendant guiding placement so the image assembles correctly. Both are things we handle on the night. If you are working to a specific reveal moment, tell us when it is and we will pace the booth so the last stickers go up shortly before it.
