So, in February of this year, Tiffany’s dream and passion became a reality with the Grand Opening of Tiffany’s Bridal Boutique.

Tiffany offers some suggestions for a bride-to-be consider first when shopping for a Wedding Dress

  • Try on many different styles and colors to see what looks best on you. Sometimes seeing it in a picture and then seeing it on you… the dress can have a totally different looks.

  • Be flexible. Don’t get “stuck” on needing a dress with lace, maybe you will like something with no lace.

  • Be open-minded in your options

  • Have a realistic budget in mind. You don’t want to try on a dress and fall in love with it, only to find it is way out of your price range.

  • Have fun. Seriously, while it may sound weird, many brides get stressed out and feel they have to have “that feeling” or they “have to cry”. Nope. It doesn’t’ happen for everyone and sometimes you need to try on others and if you keep coming back to a certain dress, then maybe it’s the one. Don’t get so caught up that you forget to just relax and enjoy the memories that are being made.

Is there a recommended time for shopping and choosing a Wedding dress?

Tiffany recommends purchasing a dress no less than 6 months away from your Wedding date. This will give the dress time to be ordered, delivered and allow for proper alterations to take place.  Ideally, Tiffany suggests brides-to-be should start shopping for their dresses about twelve months from their Wedding date.

Are there any best practices in choosing a Wedding dress?

Tiffany recommends to her clients to try on various styles of wedding dresses.  She feels, many times, brides come in with pictures on their phones of dresses they think they might like and many times, end up choosing a dress that is completely different.

Tiffany also suggests it’s best to keep an open mind and just try on many different style options. Dresses always look different on the hangers and on the models in the pictures. Also, keep your party small when you bring people along to shop for a dress. Too many people, can lead to too many opinions and can just be downright overwhelming, not only the bride-to-be, but everyone involved. Keep it small.

Lastly, take pictures wearing the dress if you are permitted. Go to a few different shops. Don’t just buy the first one you think “you love.” In Tiffany’s experience, she has encountered brides who bought a dress too soon, only to fall out of love with it, then find themselves in a rush to find a new dress they actually want to get married in.
